Digital baseband predistortion for RF power amplifier linearization

Public

The purpose of this Major Qualifying Project is to investigate a digital baseband predistortion approach to linearize the nonlinear attributes associated with radio frequency power amplifiers (RFPA). The predistorter is capable of adaptively restoring a complex baseband signal constellation by realizing appropriate magnitude and phase corrections. The predistorter also achieves a significant reduction is spurious intermodulation distortion (IMD) products that normally appear at the RFPA output port due to a multi-tone input spectrum. The proof of concept design has been demonstrated in MATLAB and a hardware test bed of idea is proposed.
