Water supply in the southwest -- a look at the water problem faced by the cities of Phoenix, AZ, Provo, UT, and Yuma, AZ
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis project examined the effects of rapid population growth in the cities of Phoenix, AZ, Provo, UT, and Yuma, AZ on the water supply taken from the Colorado River as well as other sources. Each of these cities has a connection to the Colorado River in some way, whether the water is needed for plumbing, irrigation, or even to drink. The problems that are discussed deal with the effects that population growth has had on the river itself, the surrounding environment, and whether the river can sustain the growing populations, as well as other problems that could arise. Possible solutions for these problems are also discussed.
