RF diode envelope detector and its applications

Öffentlich

Two models of a diode detector are explored along with the limitations, the weakly-nonlinear (square-law) detector model and the fully nonlinear diode detector model. However, for RFID applications, only the fully nonlinear model is applicable due to the large power requirement. A rectifying circuit was developed and tested with a Agilent HSMS-2850 diode matched to a 50 ohm patch antenna. Results show that using typical RFID transmitting power of 4W, an output voltage on the order of 4V can be expected.
