Transgenic animals
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerTransgenic animals are animals that have been genetically modified by insertion of foreign DNA into their genomes. This paper provides an overview of transgenic animal construction techniques, their various categories of utilization and describes the impact of this new technology on society via ethical and legal issues. We conclude that this new technology should continue to be supported by medical research especially in those cases that provide a clear medical benefit, while minimizing any animal suffering.
