This document outlines the methods used to develop a strategic plan for the Fire Services Museum Victoria (FSMV) in Melbourne, Australia. A five-year strategic plan for the FSMV is included as an appendix. Research was conducted in libraries, the fire museum, and other museums to determine how best to approach a strategic planning initiative. Further research was conducted to investigate the feasibility of several strategies for the museum and this research was compiled into a strategic plan.
