The Low earth orbit atmospheric gas harvester

open in viewerThis is a technology assessment investigating the feasibility of a space craft capable of extracting oxygen (and other gases) from the lower exosphere. Key components that would be required to operate such a spacecraft were researched to determine if the concept was technically feasible and economically viable as a profit making venture. The resulting study of existing and emerging technologies led us to conclude that an unmanned gas harvester in low earth orbit is indeed feasible. It is also potentially profitable and would have profound socio-technical implications.
