Our project focused on the relationship between society and technology in terms of technology transfer. Using the concepts of appropriate technology, technology transfer and technology assessment, we developed a conceptual transfer process for our sponsor, The Swiss Federal Institute of Snow and Avalanche Research. We created an inventory of their technologies and classified them under four categories that demonstrated the social consequences of technology transfer were then theoretically transferred using our conceptual process.
