Implementation of a performance-based building code in the United States.

open in viewerThis study analyzes the feasibility of the implementation of a performance-based building code in the United States, based on the opinions of various stakeholders of the building industry. Interviews with these stakeholders were conducted to discuss prior knowledge of performance systems, and analyze the possibility of implementation. The barriers of the implementation of a performance-based building code, along with solutions, are stated in the analysis to aid stakeholders in the transition process.
