This IQP examines the United States' decision to initiate Operation Paperclip. In some instances, the transfer of German scientists and other people of interest was necessary for security and technological/ scientific development. Although, welcoming those who were in any way associated to the Nazi Party to work for the U.S. created morality concerns. While many argue that bringing those convicted of war crimes to the United States via Operation Paperclip should never have happened, the military and scientific development that look place because of this strengthened the country in the event of a Russian or Japanese attack.
