Hybrid structures produced by electrospinning
PúblicoA technique was developed to produce and electrospin an inorganic-organic hybrid gel. The inorganic phase of the hybrid consisted of calcium phosphate (CP) synthesized through sol-gel processing, while the organic component was comprised of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Electrospinning of the pure CP gel yielded dense, layered structures. A minimum of 38 wt.% PVA is needed to stabilize the fibrous structure. CP was distributed uniformly within the PVA fibers. This inorganic-organic hybrid has the potential for use in orthopedic applications.
