Design of a Stirling engine for ship propulsion

Public

There are many advantages of Stirling engines that warrant further research into their use. This project looks at whether or not it is plausible to replace a diesel engine in a pleasure yacht with a Stirling engine. The size of the Stirling engine is mostly dependent on its heat exchangers. Therefore, the design portion concentrated on this area to show that the Stirling Engine could be as efficient but would require more space than the diesel.
