Power system integrity

The Power System Integrity project aims to notify power companies automatically of the location of broken or sagging distribution lines. The monitoring system is made up of two parts: the line devices that monitor problems and the centralized computer polling those devices. The line device involves four main components: power source, height detector, internal control, and communication. This project involved building system using plans from previous groups along with added design aspects.

  • This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
