Root canal tool redesign

公开

The Obtura II is a dental device used to inject heated gutta-percha into the root canal during root canal surgery. The objective of this MQP was to redesign this device to meet current standards. The unit was evaluated for both construction and performance issues using thermal analysis and heat transfer modeling. The results indicate that modifications could be made to the unit to make it perform better. Based on this data, a new tool was designed and tested to determine the performance characteristics.
