Factors influencing nest site choice and construction materials in Bwindi gorillas

Pubblico

Like all great apes, gorillas are nomadic, foraging for food during the day and building a new nest each night. This study focuses on the nesting behavior of a group of mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (BINP) in southwestern Uganda. Preference for nesting sites at certain locations relative to the park boundary, preference for certain plant species in nest construction and gregariousness of the group were analyzed over the course of a 17-month field study
