Stressed Out! Investigating the Effects of Bisphenols on Cellular Stress
公开可下载的内容
open in viewerResearch supporting the harmful effects of Bisphenol-A (BPA) has prompted its substitution in plastics manufacturing with alternative bisphenols, such as BPS and BPF. We used cultured human cells and fluorescence microscopy to compare the effects of these bisphenols on cellular stress response and growth. Our research suggests that BPA and BPF had quantifiable influence on both cellular stress and growth, while our findings on BPS were inconclusive. This work has important implications for the use of alternative bisphenols in plastics.
