Improving Methods of Teaching Mathematics in Middle School

open in viewerThis Interactive Qualifying Project discusses two different methods for improving math learning in the classroom. The first method is a scaffolding strategy emphasizing active participation. The second method is solving equations by algebraic manipulation. The experiments indicate that employing the scaffolding strategy can improve students' performance in math.
