Recycling Our Own Waste in WPI via Robotic Systems
公开 Deposited可下载的内容
open in viewerThis project investigates the feasibility for WPI to sort its own recycling waste. We will especially be focusing on the role of the robotics technology that would enable in-place sorting of WPI waste. WPI’s Manipulation and Environmental Robotics Laboratory (MER Lab) already has an early prototype for robotic waste sorting. We will explore potential benefits and challenges of using such technology (and others) and understand their logistic, economic, and safety requirements. The finding of this project will be the first step towards making WPI the first university that processes its own recyclables.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
