Nuclear magnetic resonance oscillator

The goal of this project was to apply Nuclear Magnetic Resonance principles to develop a nuclear magnetic oscillator. To reach this goal, it was necessary to first build a probe to induce and detect NMR in a sample. After attempting several approaches, we succeeded in seeing the effect via resonance absorption at 213.1 MHz using a sample of powdered cobalt and by inducing precession with respect to its own electronic magnetic self field. Simulations of a modeled nuclear magnetic oscillator circuit we developed can be used to work towards an implementation of a novel nuclear magnetic gyroscope for future consumer products.
