Stray Voltage Detector
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis project proposes the design of a system capable of detecting hazardous stray voltage levels that may appear on surrounding objects due to faulty wiring. The device consists of two sensing directional antennas, analog and digital signal processing circuitry and an LCD display. Utilizing differential signal analysis techniques, the device is capable of determining the direction and distance to a stray voltage source. In lab tests, the device successfully detected and located a four foot electrified pole at a distance of seven feet.
