We designed lesson plans to incorporate engineering skills and knowledge for the fifth grade at Elm Park and Midland Street schools with the intention of implementing them in the classroom. We worked in the classroom to mentor the fifth grade students with the intention of introducing engineering and the possible pursuit of a technical career. We found it difficult to implement some engineering lessons to all of the students due to the diverse level of learning skills in the classroom. Once we overcame this diversity, we were able to implement our lesson plans at each school. At this point, the fifth grade students showed a great interest in engineering and science and were able to learn a lot.
