dig-1 genetics in Caenorhabditis elegans
PublicThe dig-1 gene is proposed to be involved in axon guidance during C. elegans embryogenesis. Immunohistochemistry was used to investigate the expression pattern of several dig-1 alleles. Preliminary results showed staining during embryogenesis using an antibody generated against DIG-1 protein; however, controls suggest the antibody may not be specific. Various methods for immunohistochemistry were utilized to determine the most effective protocol and conditions for RT-PCR were optimized for future research of the dig-1 gene.
