Scientific American’s Impact on America: Scientific American Illustrations
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis project, sponsored by the American Antiquarian Society, established a website for a database of illustrations found in the Scientific American magazine though the years of 1845 to 1869. As the seventh group to work on this project, the team enhanced the website and corrected entries that contained errors, such as broken links, grammatical errors, and incorrect data. The team added an edit option and fixed links to the Making of America website, a Cornell-run collection of nineteenth century texts. The team also investigated the impact that the agricultural implements found in Scientific American had on manufacturing and farming in the nineteenth century.
