Energy Consumption of WPI Buildings
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerThis report examines the energy efficiency of Founders Hall and East Hall on the WPI campus. East Hall, a LEED certified building, is compared and contrasted to Founders Hall, a non-LEED certified building, by analyzing and evaluating electricity and gas consumption through a walk-through audit, meter recording, and surveys conducted in the winter season. Adding weather seals around doors, better placement of lighting, and prioritizing thermal comfort are some recommendations to improve energy efficiency.
- This report represents the work of one or more WPI undergraduate students submitted to the faculty as evidence of completion of a degree requirement. WPI routinely publishes these reports on its website without editorial or peer review.
