The Lab for Education and Application Prototypes at WPI and Quinsigamond Community College (LEAP@WPI/QCC) was created as a center for advancement in the emerging field of integrated photonics. To achieve the ambitions of LEAP, the facility needs data about the industry at large and individuals or companies that may decide to sign as members to LEAP’s services. Using methods outlined by the National Science Foundation's Innovation Corps Program (I-Corps) as well as a web-scraping methodology to get informative data from the internet, our project compiled data that can inform LEAP’s Industry Affiliates Program (IAP). Data was collected to provide recommendations for LEAP to adapt its IAP and approach to acquiring members according to the needs of target companies and networking societies.
