The healthcare sector, particularly Intensive Care Units (ICUs), has been plagued by significant nursing staff shortages, affecting patient care quality and increasing the workload on healthcare professionals. This project sought to address these shortages by harnessing technological innovations to alleviate the burden on ICU nursing staff. Through a comprehensive approach that included a thorough literature review, the development and distribution of a nursing staff survey, and engagement with local healthcare institutions, this project aims to identify key technological interventions capable of streamlining clinical workflows and reducing repetitive, low-skill tasks. At the conclusion, a summary of key findings will be provided for engineers to generate future insights about this topic.
