Sequence and expression analysis of Caenorhabditis elegans srf-6 candidate gene F41G3.10

Public

Mutations in the C. elegans gene srf-6 result in the constitutive display of a surface antigen normally displayed only in the L1 developmental stage. To determine the location of these mutations, an extensive DNA sequence analysis of a candidate gene region, previously shown to partially rescue srf-6, was undertaken for each of 8 identified mutants. An additional mutant, produced by transposon insertion, was stabilized by back-crossing. Finally, a transcriptional analysis was performed to determine the exon/intron pattern of the candidate gene.
