Directing Richard Sheridan's The Rivals with the help of Aristotle
PúblicoThe primary objective of this project was to bring Richard Sheridan's play The Rivals from the page to the stage by applying the theatrical theory of Aristotle's Poetics. This goal was successfully achieved in two phases. The first phase encompassed a historical literary analysis of Sheridan's comic technique and an interpretation of The Rivals based on the six dramatic principles outlined in Aristotle's Poetics. The second phase included the communication of this interpretation to the cast and crew in order to bring a director's vision to the stage. My portfolio displays my achievements.
