The goal of this project was to create a Damage Analysis and Needs Assessment manual that addressed earthquakes and fires for the Instituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica (TEC) and provides recommendations to improve the safety of the campus. To realize this goal, we worked with faculty at TEC and Heriel S.A. to survey campus occupants, interview field experts, and evaluate selected buildings on campus based on the NFPA 101: Life Safety Code.
