Retrieving fresh water in the village of Matenwa, Haiti is a daily challenge for its people. The villagers must travel for hours in order to retrieve water from a cistern. Providing a means of accessing readily available water for the village of Matenwa that is not burdensome is the goal of this project. Bamboo grows on the island and has been used elsewhere globally to help collect and transport water, so this was investigated for Matenwa. A development and implementation plan was proposed.
