EVALUATING CONSTRUCTION METHODS FOR AN ELECTRICAL TRANSITION COMPOUND

open in viewerThis project, completed in conjunction with the Dartmouth, NS office of Stantec Engineering, evaluated various construction methods including: Cast in Place Concrete, CMU, ICF, Precast Concrete, and Structural Steel for the construction of an Electrical Transition Compound. The compound will transition underground electrical cables to overhead transmission lines. Evaluation criteria included cost, construction duration, environmental impact, durability, maintenance, and availability of labor and materials. The final report contained a recommendation and an alternative for the construction of the Transition Compound.
