Wernher von Braun: An Ethical Analysis

open in viewerThis IQP is an ethical study of Wernher von Braun, the Nazi engineer who headed the V-2 program and later headed the NASA Saturn V program. His life is discussed, with particular focus on the morality of his work for the Nazis, especially the use of concentration camp slave labor. In addition, the morality of the US government's decision to acquire von Braun and his group is analyzed, with a focus on the context of the decision at the beginning of the Cold War.
