Binder Burnout Investigation on Lanthanum Strontium Manganite Public
The current work investigates the effects of different atmospheric conditions and heating sequences on the heat release and weight loss of Lanthanum Strontium Manganite (LSM), a ceramic oxide that is widely used as the cathode material in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). With the use of combination TGA/DSC, a series of experiments were designed to determine how to best control these two parameters, including a benchmark test with dry air and additional experiments using argon, nitrogen, and mixed gas. Furthermore, select experiments were designed with novel customized heating sequences, which may reduce the BBO process time and cost substantially.
