To develop a plan for the utilization of water resources in Nong Din Dam, a rural village in northeast Thailand, we assessed the agricultural water needs and water capacity of the village using GPS satellite technology and GIS mapping. In addition, we provided the villagers with a curriculum treating appropriate and efficient methods of irrigation and irrigation management, enabling them to design and maintain a comprehensive irrigation system.
