Characterizing a CorEx Bundle of the Exocyst Complex in Saccharomyces cervisiae
PublicThe exocyst complex plays roles in membrane trafficking and fusion during exocytosis. Current Cryo-EM models do not provide clear structural information on the complex or its CorEx bundles. CorEx bundles are involved in connecting the two exocyst modules, though the mechanism is poorly understood. We attempted to obtain a crystallized structure of a CorEx bundle by two methods: building the complex using a polycistronic plasmid system and digesting the complex by limited proteolysis.
