This Major Qualifying Project (MQP) aims to explore and enhance existing computational models used to understand brain functions. This project is based on the MIT Algonauts “How the Human Brain Makes Sense of Natural Scenes” challenge seeking to connect brain functions to neural networks using images. The project has a dual focus: first, to analyze current models and architectures through an extensive literature review of top-performing submissions on the Algonauts Challenge leaderboard; and second, to experimentally fine-tune these models' hyperparameters to achieve better performance. By examining previously submitted papers, we seek to gain a comprehensive understanding of the network architectures and identify potential improvements.
