Design of an Implantable Ulnar Collateral Ligament Repair System
PublicThere is a need for a device that aids in restoring function to partial tears of the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in overhead throwing athletes. This project’s goal is to design an implantable device to aid in the repair of damaged tissue and restore valgus stability. It will provide an additional therapeutic option that better matches the extent of their UCL injury. The scaffolds developed in this project may allow for return to pre-injury performance without complete surgical reconstruction.
