Improving Stormwater Management for the Salisbury Pond Area
PúblicoConteúdo disponível para baixar
open in viewerStormwater runoff transports various pollutants from the land surface to groundwater and larger bodies of water. This contamination can negatively impact certain bodies of water along with their aquatic life. This project addressed the impacts of stormwater runoff on Salisbury Pond, a pond in Worcester located adjacent to the WPI campus. By sampling, testing, and analyzing the quality and determining flows and loads of local runoff for the areas surrounding Salisbury Pond, this project developed and recommended applicable stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs) to minimize the local contributions to surface water pollution in Salisbury Pond.
