Modeling of Crowd Behavior: The Creation of a Program to Predict the Movements of Individuals within a Crowd
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerTraditionally thought to be erratic and unpredictable, the prediction of crowd movements has been difficult and inaccurate. Following the original works of Dirk Helbing, this project has created a system with which crowd behaviors and movements can be mapped and predicted. By adding obstacles to his model, we have simulated a more real world environment. With the aid of this system, it may be possible to find ways to decrease the life-threatening dangers that naturally arise within the existence of crowds.
