This project provides information on the status of the integrated photonics industry in Massachusetts in light of the creation of WPI’s Integrated Photonics Laboratory for Education and Application Prototypes (LEAP@WPI/QCC) facility. This LEAP was created to service the emergent integrated photonics industry in the Massachusetts area. Following interactions with stakeholders in the industry, we surveyed a broad array of companies to determine the needs of different industry sectors. We combined this information with analysis of current technology based on relevant academic literature to provide a snapshot of the industry's current and expected needs. A set of supporting information and recommendations for the operation of the LEAP@WPI/QCC facility are presented.
