Cost-effective and Reliable Mechanism for Parking Brake Releasing on SMA

open in viewerA group of two WPI students and four HUST students worked together to redesign the parking brake releasing system on Caterpillar 980H wheel loaders with Steel Mill Arrangement. Eliminating the original hydraulic components used in the system and replacing them with pure mechanical parts, the final designs provided financially attractive and reliable solutions for Caterpillar Inc, the sponsor of this project.
