The goal of this project is to research and select techniques for trading stocks to become a better investor. After researching different methods to make money on the stock market a five-week stock simulation was conducted for two portfolios. The same group of companies were invested in from two different perspectives. A fundamental analysis of the financial operations of each company in the portfolio was performed. The first portfolio established initial positions in the portfolio companies and then sold covered calls against the positions. The second portfolio used technical analysis to determine positions and transactions. The first portfolio yielded a loss of 1.82%. The Technical Trading Portfolio had a return of 4.6%. This project could help people to gain insight into how to properly manage a position in securities.
