Analysis of bacterial identities of cryptobiotic soils
PublicThe project focused on identifying microorganisms found in Cryptobiotic soils. In the course of this project, the soil samples, which had been collected from the desert area of Utah, were examined by Scanning Electron Microscopy. Soil specimens were also stained using Auramine-O in order to examine their chlorophyll contents under a fluorescent microscope, indicating the presences of the photosynthetic microorganisms. The results of this project will be useful in future understanding the composition of cryptobiotic soils.
