Django Unplugged is a PC third-person brawler and shooter that follows a modern-day slave uprising against their masters. The player finds themselves enslaved by a corporation on a resort island and must fight to regain their freedom. Throughout the game, the player engages in melee and ranged combat, takes weapons from their former masters, and navigates through various parts of the island until they reach the slave owner’s mansion. The game is intended as a vertical slice or demo of a much larger experience and aims to replicate the gameplay and visuals of big-budget studio games of the same genres. It was developed in Unreal Engine 5 and the team used technology such as procedural generation and motion capture in order to create an accelerated technical art pipeline. The game was developed for Windows and can be played on a PC with a keyboard and mouse. This report details the conception and development of Django Unplugged’s design, art, music, and production.
