Preparation and analysis of tagged TCV clones

Public

Turnip crinkle virus (TCV) appears to produce a programmed cell death (PCD) suppressor in plants. The objective of this project is to prepare tagged clones of the five TCV genes in an agro-compatible vector which can be used to inoculate the plant host and observe PCD suppression. A transient assay allows one to carry out experiments to monitor the effects of independent genes or combinations of genes. Expression of the genes can be examined with the addition of protein tags.
