Modeling and Measuring Nasal Airflow
PublicDownloadable Content
open in viewerApproximately 20% of the world population suffers from nasal obstruction. The current method for treating this condition is an operation called a nasal turbinectomy. The effectiveness of this surgery has been evaluated mostly through patient perception and computer simulation, both of which can be inconclusive. To obtain more definitive results, pressure measurements and flow data were documented in this project using pre- and post-surgery scale models of the human nasal passages
