open in viewerThe purpose of this project was to explore the popular game 2048 in terms of expanding the functionality of the existing application, creating solutions for optimal play, discovering useful heuristics to help players perform better in the game, and creating images using the sliding-tile nature of the game. Our expansions to the application’s functionality include the ability to dynamically modulate many aspects of the game, such as the placement and value of newly inserted tiles, as well as the size of the board. Additional functionality was implemented to automate gameplay, such that our program makes moves according to the current board state of the game.
