Analysis of adhesion protein DIG-1 in C. elegans

Public

DIG-1 appears to be an adhesion protein involved in neuron guidance during C. elegans nervous system development. This MQP attempted to show recognition of, as well as specificity to DIG-1 by anti-con3, a previously raised antibody to the C-terminus. Various methods of cutting the protein were employed and analysis was performed using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Fluorescence was also used to look at in vivo localization of DIG-1. Results suggest that anti-con3 does not specifically recognize DIG-1 from a protein homogenate.
