A Validity assessment of sources regarding the safety and dangers of water fluoridation

Public

The research investigated the validity of scientific sources cited by the opponents and proponents of water fluoridation during the 2001 fluoridation campaign in Worcester, Mass. The opponents published frightening statements regarding the effects of fluoridation on the human body, and the proponents published a rebuttal response. The scientific articles used to support four of the statements relating fluoridation to bone density, cancer, caries and fluorosis were investigated and reviewed for experimental design and data analysis using a validity measures assessment.
