Word sculpture -- an examination of powerful word play in the newspaper business

Public

The purpose of this major Qualifying Project was to examine and practice the art of three types of newspaper writing: science writing, news writing, and column writing. This work was conducted via an internship with The Worcester Telegram & Gazette newspaper. Column writing was also contributed to Newspeak, the Worcester Polytechnic Institute newspaper. This project includes a compilation of published articles, news briefs, and columns in conjunction with an analysis focusing on the formulaic and ethical construction of newspaper articles.
