Flammability of weathered timber in wildfires
公开A series of test were done using the cone calorimeter to identify the effects weathering has on the flammability of typical Australian fencing timbers. Old and new hardwood and treated pine were examined. Samples were placed in different conditioning rooms of 20 degree C with 40% relative humidity and at 40 degree C with 20% relative humidity. The samples were tested in a cone calorimeter at a radiance of 25kW/m 2. The results were used to better understand the effect a timber fence has in a wildfire. In addition, a rough analytical expression was found to calculate time to ignition.
